Woven Polypropylene Non-coated Bags
This is our most basic bag. Circularly woven, this is a seamless bag which offers strength as well as permeability. Graphics are printed using a four-color flexo process. This is a cost-effective bag where strength is needed, but not high-end graphics. This bag is typically used for commercial grains, animal feed, fertilizer, textiles, and other such products.
Circularly-woven Polypropylene Coated Bags
This bag is constructed in the same manner as the non-coated bag, except that the woven polypropylene scrim is coated with a layer of polypropylene extrudate. This provides a better moisture and air barrier, thereby better protecting the products being packaged. Ike the non-coated bag, this bag can be printed upon on both sides. It is suited for animal feed, seeds, plastic resins.
Woven Polypropylene Sealed and Coated Bags
This bag is a bag coated using the same process as for the circularly-woven coated bag. However, the woven scrim is slit in the weaving process, and it is coated and printed flat as one sheet of scrim. When the bag is formed, it is formed with a backseam of between 3 and 6 inches. This is a very durable, cost-effective bag, suitable for products such as fertilizer, lime, calcium, plastic resins, and similar products.
Woven Polypropylene Kraft Paper-laminated Bags
This bag is made by laminating kraft paper to the woven polypropylene scrim. The paper is normally printed using a four-color flexo process. More suitable for commercial packaging, this bag is generally used for products such as plastic resins, chemicals, and minerals.
Woven Polypropylene White Fine Paper-laminated Bags
This bag is similar to the previous bag in construction; however, by using white paper instead of brown kraft, the paper can be printed using eight-color roto-gravure printing. This makes this bag more suitable for products which need a good shelf-appeal such as dog food, rice, animal feeds, and home and garden products.
Woven Polyethylene Metalized Polyethylene-laminated bags
Using a woven polyethylene scrim, the inside or outside of the bag is laminated with a metalized polyethylene (MPET) film. This gives the bag the appearance of a metal foil layer. While the MPET does give the bag slightly better air permeability and light protection, the primary difference in this bag is the customer perception of product protection. Typical uses of this bag would be to package pet food, rice, flour, and other consumables.
Woven Polypropylene Film-laminated Bags
This is our standard three-layer bag. The inner woven polypropylene scrim is coated with a polypropylene extrudate which is used to laminate a polypropylene film to the outside of the bag. The outer film layer is reverse printed before the lamination process, so when the bag is constructed, the print is actually protected from wear by the thickness of the film. By using high-quality eight-color roto-gravure presses, the print is of the highest quality available, whether printing real images such as dogs or with simple graphics. And by using reverse printing, this print will not wear off so not only does it look great with, items such as bar codes can always be read. This bag is suitable for retail products where the quality of the product needs to be conveyed to the buying customer. Current users of this bag include pet food, rice, seed, garden products, charcoal, wood chip, animal feed, and bird seed companies.
Woven Polypropylene Matte Film-laminated Bags
Similar in construction to our standard three-layer bag, in stead of a clear film, this bag uses a matte film for a more subdued look. The performance characteristics of this bag is the same as for our three-payer bag, it is just the look that is different. Popular with some retail stores, it can be sued for all the same products as the standard three-layer bag.
Woven Polypropylene Fine Paper and Film-laminated Bags
This a five layer bag is coated on the inside with paper and on the outside with film. This bag provides an excellent moisture barrier and is used with products such as pet food, fertilizer, seeds, and corn. For seeds, the bags keeps them from germinating until they are taken out of the bag and planted.
Woven Polypropylene Glossy Paper-laminated Bags
This bag allows for a very high-quality print job as our normal three-layer bag. However, the firmness of the paper gives the bag more stiffness and makes it suitable for high-speed filling lines such as used in the pet food and rice industries.
Woven Polypropylene With Ivory Film-laminated Bags
This bag is similar in make-up to a standard film-coated bag, but by using ivory-colored film, the graphics “pop” and provides a more elegant, classy look. We also use printer watermarks to prevent counterfeiting of this bag.
Woven Polypropylene Cement Bags
Our standard cement bags are woven polypropylene with an inner layer of paper. The bag is micro-perforated to allow for high-speed filling. This bag has huge advantages over paper in both tear and bursting strength, so the cement is better protected in both transport and storage.
Woven Polypropylene AD*STAR Bags
Lucky Star has the ability to make the popular AD*STAR flat-bottom bags. This is a circularly -woven polypropylene bag with a bottom and top patch heat-sealed onto the bag. Usually used for powdered materials such as cement ad minerals, the normal configuration is as a valve bag where its strength offers huge advantages over paper bags of the same configuration. But the bag can also be left with an open top for other product types. This bag is a very cost-effective method of packaging, and the flat bottom makes storage easy while offering a good billboard for company information while the bag is sitting on store shelves.
